A New Chapter for SNUFFELS
On the first day of Spring 2025, a new chapter began for one of Hermanus' most beloved corners. When Janine Ackermann and Jacobus (Jake) Hartman took over the "SNUFFELS" second-hand shop in the industrial area, they didn't just see a store - they saw a "goods adoption agency."
From the Netherlands to Hermanus
The couple moved from the Netherlands to Hermanus in 2022, bringing a unique blend of corporate discipline and a practical farming mindset. This combination is the engine behind the new SNUFFELS 1.0 (Pre-Loved Household Goods) and 2.0 (Re-Loved Household Goods).
"We believe nothing should go to waste and love the challenge to reimagine unloved items," says Janine.
More Than Just a Shop.
The SNUFFELS Circle was born from the idea of a Circular Economy. It’s a welcoming space where people can meet, share skills, and collaborate over a good cup of coffee.
